A sumptuously thick chenille scarf of silence wraps my head as the light fades and night settles on the mountain. The blanketing snow will come soon, shrinking my simple world. I welcome the stillness one glowing candle at a time.

…one glowing candle at a time. LOVELY.
Chenille scarf of silence. I do so love burying my nose in the winter. I don’t welcome the stillness though…hate the cold. I was not built for winter!

You have lovely sensory images here. Well done.
I really like the way you took this from the oppressive silence and cold of winter, to welcoming it.
The last line had me reading it again and again. So lovely!
The images that this story brings about are so beautiful.
I like the reflective aspects of winter too. I forget that when the first snows fall.
Shrinking my world – yes, that’s perfect.

All those esses in the first line added to the fuzziness of the scarf image.
I loved the image of the scarf, but also detest the winter and the cold stillness it brings. Your imagery was spot-on here. Loved every word.

The word choices really convey the feeling of stillness and quiet of a heavy snowfall.
There is so much peace in this. I can feel the silence.
I love the idea of everything being wrapped. Lovely use of the prompt words too.
