A quora of hermit crabs sunned on the beach.
One crab boasted of his new too-large shell, βIt is the biggest, the shiniest, the best!β
A squadron of seagulls noticed and dove beachward.
All the crabs in small shells scuttled away, but the crab with the too-large shell could not escape.
Moral: Do not boast of a house for which you are not ready.
If this crab survives the seagulls, is it planning to run for office in 2020? It’s got the rhetoric down pat.
I liked your seashore setting, on a cold day like this.

Oh, poor crab. He was just a little too shiny for his own good. Nice touch with the quora and squadron

I love that his flashiness did him in at the end.
And also learning that a group of hermit crabs is called a quora. π
Learnt a new thing, the quora.
And flashy isn’t always good. Serves right.
Love the visual aspect in this piece. Especially like Asha’s comment above π

I like the simplicity of this. You didn’t try to get flashy yourself, and it worked.
Great political commentary, told so succinctly. Really well done.

My mind also went straight to politics, haha. Hermit crabs were a perfect choice for this!
